WHO ARE WE?
About the Festival
On behalf of the team of the Association “The Muses,” I am pleased to present the International Youth Arts Festival (IYAF) “The Muses.”
The idea behind the festival “The Muses” is to combine artistic expression with summer relaxation, creating a global space open to creative contacts and the exchange of ideas among young artists. The format includes all forms of art, with concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions, animations, and entertainment.
IYAF “The Muses” is competitive in nature—participants receive diplomas, plaques, and gifts from organizers and partners.
The festival began in 2006 under the patronage of Mr. Stefan Danailov, with the support of the Ministry of Culture. Since 2015, it has been held under the patronage of Mrs. Margarita Popova. The last nine editions have been under the patronage of Mrs. Iliana Yotova, Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Participants include children and youth aged 5 to 35—individual performers and creative groups from community centers, studios, schools of art, academies, international guests, and participants, as well as disadvantaged children.
The festival is open to all forms of art: dance (traditional folk, classical, modern, majorette, and sports dances), authentic folklore, Eastern martial arts, contemporary and traditional theater, classical, pop, rock, and jazz music, visual arts, photography, unconventional forms, cinema, and more.
